Considering Jay’s comments and the application of knowledge, it is important to think about the world around us. One of the reasons we need so many problem solvers is because the world is full of problems. A wide range of careers are focused on solving these problems. In fact, an argument could be made that every job involves critical thinking and problem solving important to addressing societal needs. These skills appear on almost all research tied to employability in the next 10 years. So how can we bring these ideas together with the application of standards based content and skills?
